Eerie strings and bowing effects give way to a distant brass melody and eventually tribal drumming.
Roger Hooper is a composer, performer and recording artist residing in the Washington, DC area. He’s scored documentaries for Voice of America featuring Sally Field and Sir Elton John, has been nominated for best score (short film) at the 2006 Machinima Film Festival in NYC, the 2012 Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema (for “The Cosmonaut”), and the 2017 Liberty University Cinematic Arts Showcase (for the WWI drama, “We Are the Dead”). Roger’s work has been featured in several documentaries and promos, news programs and political ads (both sides of the aisle!), and has appeared on PBS, HGTV, Fox News, CNN and NBC. Roger also works as a keyboard product trainer for Casio, and has an extensive background in the musical instrument retail biz (dating back pre-Pro Tools). A longtime synthesizer programmer, he views creating music as building a pallet of colors with melodic elements to create worlds that bring stories to life.
